At First Steps Physiotherapy WA, we are passionate about working with your family to help your child achieve their goals. Our evidence-based approach to physiotherapy focuses on family-centred practice. We understand that your child grows up in the context of their family and wider community network. We will work with your family to determine what is important to you and develop a treatment plan that works for you.
As a mobile therapy provider, we can offer both home-based or community-based therapy sessions. So if your child needs help at school, in the playground or at the local pool, we can help your child reach their full potential.
Funding
You are able to access our physiotherapy services without a referral from your GP.
Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for the following financial assistance to cover part of the cost of physiotherapy services.
NDIS
We work with families who self-manage their child's NDIS funding or have support from an NDIS plan manager.
Medicare
Your child may be eligible for a Medicare rebate through a Chronic Disease Management Plan. This will be confirmed by your GP.
Private Health Funds
Your child may be eligible for a rebate depending on your level of cover and provider. Consult your provider to confirm your eligibility.
Meet Our Physiotherapist
Robert Luscombe has nine years experience in pediatric physiotherapy. Prior to this, Robert taught babies and children as a swimming instructor.
Robert has experience in working with children with autism, global development delay, Down syndrome and various rare genetic conditions.
Robert is passionate about helping parents feel comfortable and confident, to effectively support their children in their physical development.
In addition to his work as a clinical physiotherapist, Robert enjoys guiding the next generation of physiotherapists in his role as Curtin Clinical Supervisor for physiotherapy students.
